Good morning, goedemiddag et bonsoir
As you may already know, my name is Jamie and I'm from Manchester, England and this is a site mainly about a bike ride with some photos thrown in for good measure.
Photography has been my passion for a long time. This part of my life would always travel with me; whether on a day trip somewhere or on a meet up with friends, it would always be there.
During the last few years however, I have also been, working and living outside of England and it's in this time that I have found my photography begin to merge with one of my other passions, namely travelling.
Life, as I am forever finding out, is simply too short and so I want to enjoy my time on this earth as much as possible; living and working in the same place for months and years on end just doesn't inject my life with the discovery and excitement I long for which is why I plan to travel and experience as many thing's as I possibly can. I want to do things a little differently and in the process, feel alive instead of simply watching life pass me by.
My next challenge therefore, is to cycle from Manchester to Japan and then onto India. As crazy as it sounds, I feel this goal is in perfect reach simply by taking it slowly, day by day, month by month. I’m excited about what lies ahead; the things I'll see, the places I'll go and the people I'll meet. I’m also a little anxious about the challenges I'll face, both mentally and physically but I'm equally unconcerned by them. Life can be one big challenge with its up's and down's in equal measure but the rewards that you get, having prevailed, are what drive you on and this, is what i'm relishing most. I'll be travelling alone but my camera will be with me all the way.
why not buy a fish a coffee?
Why not support a fish on his bicycle journey?
I aim to keep this site as up to date as humanely possible and given the amount of logistical problems I may encounter along the way, this won't be as easy it may seem. I’ll try to keep it as informative as I can, thus, if you ever have a spare moment where you feel Jeremy Kyle and Homes Under the Hammer could take a back burner, you could possibly have a look here. It might even be entertaining.
Having said that and even though I do enjoy writing, it does incur spending precious amounts of my time staring at a computer screen when I could be doing other, more useful stuff, such as squatting horse flies in my tent. In addition to this, it also costs a little money every month in order to keep this site live and up to date.
So, if you’d like to help me out and you’re feeling rather flush then I won’t say no. If you do decide to donate using the link on the right, the kind people at papal do take a significant cut of the proceeds and so if you don't wish to do this, then you can always message me for my details. Easy!
